
Dr Mary Molokwu
Liberian Country Manager – Fauna & Flora International
Dr Mary Molokwu-Odozi is the Liberia Country Manager of Fauna and Flora International (FFI), a UK-based Conservation NGO. She has a Ph. D. in Ecology from Lund University Sweden, a M. Sc. in Conservation Biology from the A. P. Leventis Ornithological Research Institute, University of Jos and a B. Sc. in Zoology from the University of Benin. Since joining FFI almost nine years ago, first as Technical Advisor, Education and Research, she has received international recognition for her work in conservation.
In 2015 she was a Tusk Conservation Award Finalist, a nomination she received for conservation capacity building in Liberia. She was also awarded a certificate of recognition by the University of Liberia for biodiversity conservation in 2016. She is named as a “Friend of the Elephant Protection Initiative (EPI)”, a global initiative, in 2018. As part of her interest in capacity building, she volunteered for the SCB Africa Section, serving as Coordinator of the E-mentoring and Communication Programme, for several years.
As a conservation manager, her interests and experience include, protected area establishment and management, transboundary conservation, community-based natural resource management, Species Conservation Action Planning and building partnerships for conservation action. She is currently leading the development of a national conservation strategy for Liberia.
