CBCN is committed to the protection and conservation of Biological Diversity in Nigeria; and to address key challenges confronting national fauna, flora and habitats
The Coalition for Biodiversity Conservationists of Nigeria (CBCN) is a non-profit organization that is committed to the protection and conservation of the rich biodiversity in Nigeria. The CBCN is made up of professionals and practitioners in the field of biodiversity conservation who are dedicated to ensuring that Nigeria’s unique flora and fauna are protected for future generations. Our mission is to create a platform and provoke discussions on the conservation activities, monitoring and regulation responsibilities and determine the scope of work of key organizations in Nigeria.
Nigeria is home to a wide variety of unique habitats and species, many of which are found nowhere else in the world. However, these habitats and species are under threat from a variety of factors, including habitat loss, illegal wildlife trade, and climate change.
The CBCN recognizes the importance of protecting and conserving Nigeria’s biodiversity and the crucial role it plays in maintaining the balance of the ecosystem. To achieve this goal, the CBCN engages in a variety of conservation efforts, including protecting habitats, stopping the illegal trade in wildlife, and educating local communities about the importance of biodiversity and their role in protecting it.
